The village of Aldwark is in the centre of a rectangle bordered by the A1(M) to the West, the A168 Thirsk road to the North, the A19 to the East and the A59 York-Harrogate road to the South.
From York, Thirsk, the East or North-East:
Follow the A19 to the Easingwold area:
From Thirsk heading South, turn right for Raskelf (about 3 miles before you get to Easingwold). Go through Raskelf, Tholthorpe and Flawith and after Flawith take the first right turn. Aldwark is just over a mile and the Aldwark Arms is on the right hand side as you go through the village.
From York heading North, turn left off the A19 at Cross Lanes (about 4 miles before Easingwold). Go over the railway and at the T-junction turn right for Tollerton. Go through Tollerton and go straight on past the right turn for Alne. Approximately 400 metres after the Alne turn, take the first left. It’s a mile to Aldwark and the Aldwark Arms is on the right hand side.
From the A1(M), Leeds, Harrogate.
From the A1(M) – A59 roundabout (junction 47 on the A1(M)), follow the A59 towards York for about 3 miles, and turn left on the B6265 at the village of Green Hammerton. Follow the B6265 for around 3 miles to Little Ouseburn and turn right. Go through the village to the T-junction and turn left towards Great Ouseburn. After a few hundred metres, take the first right turn and go over the Toll Bridge (it costs 40p). After the Toll Bridge go straight on, past the right turn to Linton, but soon afterwards turn left. The village of Aldwark is a few hundred metres and the Aldwark Arms is on the left hand side.
